OUR CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
Highly recommend these guys. Dropped my tailshaft off in the morning, picked it up that afternoon!! Car driving smooth as, no more vibrating!!
Dominic Tonna
Had my tailshaft repaired and balanced up by Ben and the boys from here, and can say the service was fast, professional and very budget friendly. Will be back next time I need a new tailshaft for my future needs. Thanks again guys!
Alicia Rushmer
Have used multiple times for my tail shafts on my builds. They have never disappointed, thanks for the great work guys!
Rocco de Palma
I brought my 1976 Ford F100 into FWE for a tailshaft repair after running into driveline issues. The team stripped it down, repaired the shaft, replaced worn components and rebalanced it to get everything back together and driving the way it should. Thanks for keeping my classic on the road!
Justin
I used GC Tailshafts for a one-piece shaft on my Toyota Cressida. Explained what was done to the car and what was needed, and they built a tailshaft that has been excellent! Highly recommend using them!
Jesse Jones
Absolutely outstanding. Next-day service. Ultra smooth running. Holds my 800hp with ease. Very reasonably priced. Thank you. Very happy.
Dave Dick
Really good workmanship and quality, would definitely recommend them. Had a one piece tail shaft made up for an 800hp Skyline, really happy with it, night and day difference.

FWE SPECIALIST MACHINING ACQUIRES GC TAILSHAFTS
The team at FWE Specialist Machining is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Gold Coast Tailshafts.
Operating under new ownership, Ben Gow and David Byrnes step into GC Tailshafts together, excited about the opportunity that lies ahead.
We would like to sincerely thank John Camenzind, the previous owner, for the way he has handled this transition. The professionalism and support through the handover have made a genuine difference.
This acquisition forms part of the broader strategy to merge GC Tailshafts with FWE Specialist Machining and build a stronger, more capable brand across machining, fabrication and driveline services.
We have also launched the new combined branding that reflects this direction. It represents alignment, capability and the next phase of growth.
Thank you to everyone who has facilitated this process over the past few months. Craig Mathie, for helping us stay sane when things got noisy. Ironbark Marketing for working to ridiculous last-minute deadlines, and Lachlan Swan for helping us navigate the acquisition process.
The focus from here is simple:
- Protect what already works
- Back the team
- Lift capability
- Build a brand known for doing it properly
We truly appreciate the support since the original announcement.
Now we get to work!

RELOCATION OF PLASTIC EXTRACTION MACHINE
THE CUSTOMER
Since it started its operation in 1988, AA Sunstate Packaging has established a reputation as one of the leading packaging providers in Queensland for high standard products and committed services to its customers.
Located in Meadowbrook, south of the Brisbane metropolitan area, AA Sunstate Packaging is privately-owned independent manufacturer specialising in the extrusion, printing and conversion of polyethylene materials.
THE JOB
When AA Sunstate Packaging purchased a used Plastic Extraction machine from an overseas factory, Fastweld Engineering was engaged to oversee and manage all aspects of the removal, transport, installation and commissioning of the machine.
The Fastweld team led and managed all required contractors including crane hire, electrical services, floor preparation (fabrication of custom mounts). Once installed, the team completed testing and commissioning procedures, produced training documentation and completed a safety assessment prior to handing over to the factory personnel for operation.
INDUSTRIAL WOODCHIPPERS & MULCHERS
THE CUSTOMER
Industrial woodchippers and mulchers, such as the Cone-Head model, operate under extreme conditions, constantly processing high volumes of wood. Over time, their metal components such as blades, grinding wheels and shafts, hoppers, chutes and structural frames experience significant wear and tear.
Ensuring these machines remain operational and efficient requires expert welding, fabrication, and preventative maintenance.
THE JOB
Fastweld Engineering can perform the following Metal Component Maintenance:
- Blade and Rotor Wear: The cutting blades and rotor components endure repeated impact, leading to dulling, chipping, and metal fatigue.
- Structural Fatigue: The machine’s frame and support structures can develop cracks due to vibration and continuous operation.
- Corrosion & Environmental Damage: Exposure to moisture, dust, and organic acids accelerates rust and metal degradation.
Heavy-Duty Hinges & Fasteners: Constant movement can cause bolts, hinges, and other fasteners to loosen or break.
